Struture
The institute has a campus that is the site of fresh development in education and research in the state. Here we station disciplines with different levels of maturity and experiment with intellectual adventures through a union of diversity that is people coming from entire state, all in the aim to create a new academic domain.
Under this concept, the institute aims not only to redevelop the existing campus development in the current engineering colleges in the sate areas by improving the conspicuously worn and cramped education and research environments in these locations.
The purpose of this new engineering campus is to facilitate the implementation of an academic plan for the 21st century and to cope with the development and growing sophistication of scholarship. While his octagonal structure reflects he future image of education and research at the engineering campus, it also gives due consideration to social demands to rectify the over concentration of government institutions in the state.
Given the position of the Campus as a pole in the octagonal structure, the development of education and research activities- based on various adventurous academic plans-on the campus marks a concrete step forward for the octagonal campus concept.
Students are provided support of infrastructure such as a good library, laboratories equipped with modern facilities essential for carrying out teaching and research at international standards and more than these a sympathetic understanding of their academic needs by the administration. So that they may be able to work at the frontiers of knowledge by keeping themselves updated with the latest developments in their field.
Classrooms are one of the main platforms where effective learning takes place. We have taken all the possible care while designing our world class classrooms so that our students get effective learning from our teachers and facilitate participative learning.
Our classrooms are well ventilated spacious, equipped with overhead and LCD projectors along with public address system with proper arrangements of Laptop power supply.
The furniture used in classrooms is of un-compromised international quality to enable students for 8 hours of comfortable and continues learning.
High – End Computing resources and Software Facility
The Computer Labs are artistically and ergonomically designed, where students get an opportunity to develop their skills according to the global needs and international standards. ASTRAL has high-end computing and network resources for the academic and research programs. The students and staff have access software tools and systems to execute real-life projects.
The institute strives to make learning more creative, interactive and information driven by using sophisticated computer techniques. The Centre would offer training and software development apart from being a support service for the faculty, students and staff. The computer laboratories across the campus house over a hundred computers for use of students and staff.
The labs are set to create specialist environment required for students of Engineering. Computer Centre supports Core 2 Duo Nodes and High End Servers connected through latest switches.
Internet and Intranet network facilities supported by high quality software based on curriculum and global requirements, along with latest operating systems, allowing the students not only to develop their skills but also access the internet for convenient internal as well as external communication with the cyber world, the college provides free access to Internet to its students through 512 kbps connectivity, the local Intranet, a 100 MBPS switched network, is provide an interactive platform for sharing resources and building communities. Other peripherals such as Laser and Dot Matrix printers, Scanners etc. also support the needs of the users.
The institute also plans to become the member of Microsoft Academic Alliance, which would support the institute to receive all the licensed software products of the Microsoft.
Library is the soul of our educational institution. The Engineering and Management College Library has been an integral part of academic endeavour in college.
