General Rules

Disciplinary action can be initiated and implemented with regard to any student at any point of time on the following grounds:

  • Non attendance of classroom/tutorial/practical as per college norms
  • Willful violation of college rules and regulations
  • Non payments of college fees and dues
  • Consumption of Drugs, Alcohol, and Smoking is strictly prohibited in the college campus. Anyone found so indulging anywhere, in the above, would be liable to face disciplinary action including immediate expulsion from the college.
  • Vandalism/violence is a serious offence. Students found guilty of committing such an offence anywhere can or may be evicted from the college as well as barred from continuing his/her studies in the campus
  • Formation of associations, societies and clubs as well as holding of parties, social gathering and meeting other than those specifically permitted and carried out as official social activities are strictly prohibited
  • No political, religious or other activities are permitted in campus of the Institute.
  • Possession of fire arms, weapons or potentially dangerous instruments and their storage in the campus will lead to penal action
  • Malicious damage to college property, which includes classroom, hostel rooms, sports facilities, transportation facilities, library, computer labs, laboratory, or the property of any student or member of staff. Any damage done to the same shall be borne by student
  • Keeping the mobile phone switched on or disturbing the class, clicking pictures or making videos would lead to legal action
  • No person shall be invited to address or entertain the students of the college without the permission of college Director/Principal
  • No student is supposed to participate in any kind of strike or agitation etc. Anybody found guilty of doing so is liable to face strict action including expulsion from the college

Notice Board

  • The college will display important notices pertaining to attendance, assignment, submission dates, projects, examination dates, guest lectures, etc. from time to time. It will be the responsibility of the students to read, understand and follow the notices. No excuse of not having read the notices will be entertained.

Identity Card

  • Students are required to obtain their Identity Cards from the college office, without which they would not be allowed to enter the college, cannot avail facility of various co curricular and extracurricular activities

Games & Sports Rules

  • Identity card is essential for participation in games and sports facilities.
    The students shall participate in games and sports activities as per the given schedule
  • Sport officer authorizes selection of students for various games & sports, and the team formation
  • Any misplacement/damage of the games/sports goods shall be recovered from the concerned students or batch

Railway Concession Rules

  • Facility of railway concession is available to students during semester breaks. To avail this facility, the students shall submit their written requests at least twenty days in advance. The facility is available from institute to home town only

Admission and University Requirements

  • No new admission will be confirmed until unless full payment of the entire prescribed fee has been made
  • If documents like original mark-sheets of the qualifying examination(s), migration certificate/ transfer certificate, gap certificate etc. are not produced in the college, the admission is liable to be canceled
  • A student who has been rusticated shall not be admitted to another institution within the jurisdiction of that University
  • The rustication of a student from an institution shall entail the removal of his name from the register of the College

Attendance Rules

  • Students shall adhere with college & class timings
  • Students shall be debarred from entering into the college premises/attending the class if they do not reach the college/class by the commencement time
  • All students are encouraged to attend every lecture, tutorial and practical class, however, a minimum of 75% overall attendance is mandatory
  • A student with less than 75% attendance in a subject during a semester will not be allowed to appear in the university exam
  • A student may be considered or award of a minimum of 15% attendance on account of active participation in cultural, college festival, inter college meets, sports activities of the state level
  • Attendance percentage for all the theory classes/practical labs shall be computed in aggregate for the entire session
  • Attendance of the students at lectures will be watched/observed very strictly. If student remains absent for a single lecture, he will be treated as absent for the whole day
  • Leave other than vacations will not be ordinarily granted to the students during the college session. Parents and guardians are requested not to encourage their wards to take leave from the college. Any kind of leave is permissible only with the prior written permission of the Director/Principal; the minimum requirement of attendance will have to be fulfilled as mentioned above
  • Students remaining absent from classes for long duration are liable to be expelled from the college

Ragging

  • Ragging is totally banned across college. Ragging, harassment, eve teasing is strictly prohibited within the confines of the Institute, Hostel and in Bus
  • Any student found guilty in the same is liable to be restricted from the college

Internal Examination (Evaluation)

  • If a student does not qualify in the internal examination with minimum prescribed marks he/she shall not be eligible to appear in the University examination of that subject. There shall be three internal examinations in a semester

Annexure – I

What constitutes Ragging ? 
Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts :

  • any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student;
  • indulging in rowdy or in disciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student;
  • asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student;
  • any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher;
  • exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students .
  • any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students;
  • any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse , homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person;
  • any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student;
  • any act that affects the mental health and self- confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.

Annexure – II

Administrative action in the event of ragging

  1. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
  2. Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.
  3. Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process.
  4. Withholding results.
  5. Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or International meets tournament, youth festival, etc.
  6. Suspension/Expulsion from the hostel.
  7. Cancellation of admission.
  8. Rustication from the institution for period ranging from one to two years.
  9. Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.

Library Rules

  • To maintain the library management two Library tokens are issued to each student, which can be obtained from the library office
  • The membership of the library is open to all the students of the college
  • A student desirous of borrowing books from the library must have an identity card issued to him/her by the college with proper seal and signature of the Director/Principal
  • Two books to a student for a maximum of 7 days period shall be issued
  • A book can be reissued for a maximum of 15 days time.
    Failing to return the books within the given period shall make the student liable to pay a fine prescribed by the institute’s library per day per book.
  • Reference books will not be issued to the student.
  • There is a provision of study of the reference books in the library reading room only
  • The mutual transfer of the allotted books among the students is not permitted and shall be penalized whenever detected
  • No book shall be issued to the student if he/she fails to deposit the fine on dates that are notified from time to time
  • The books will be issued to the student only on the allotted date and time
  • The students will be solely responsible for any loss or damage of the books borrowed and, they may be asked to replace two books or pay double its prevailing market price
  • CDs are also issued to the students for a two-day period

Laboratory Rules

  • The students shall be responsible for proper handling and safe custody of lab computers/article/apparatus/equipment/parts used by them. Any damage, breakage or loss during use or custody of student shall be recovered at the student’s expense
  • If any case of damage or missing of any article is reported during lab timing of any particular batch of students, the penalty to recover the losses shall be imposed on whole of the batch

Course Books

  • Essentially, the student shall buy prescribed text books of each subject at the commencement of each semester/year. Students would not be allowed to enter the class without books and study material

Student Progress Report

  • College releases student progress reports at regular intervals in a semester/year
  • Parents/guardians are supposed to take report of their ward’s performance and in turn will counsel the ward for necessary improvements
  • The Guardian must visit the college at least twice in a year to take report of the student’s performance

Classroom Guidelines

  • Faculty and teaching assistants takes responsibility for the classrooms by making sure that food and drinks never enter the classrooms, not allowing anyone to smoke in the college campus, reporting to the building administrator any classroom in need of maintenance, equipment and repair

Alumni Association

  • All students who have passed the course shall be members of the college alumni association. There will be a get together of the association every year

Hostel Rules

  • Well-furnished separate hostels are available for the Boys and Girls. These hostels are governed by certain rules and regulations
  • All authorities of hostel management lie with the Warden and Principal. Principal is the custodian of all the hostels
  • The accommodation shall be provided for a minimum of one annual session, which can further be extended considering student’s conduct in the hostel
  • All resident students shall compulsorily be member of the hostel mess
  • Only pure vegetarian food will be served
  • No student shall enter the kitchen / store or instruct the kitchen staff
  • No student shall take any crockery or cutlery out of the canteen/dining hall
  • All medical aids shall be made available by the hostel management; all costs shall be borne by the students
  • If a student fails to attend the college without proper reasons and its information to the warden, shall lead to 01 hr. campus work
  • The students shall use their own lock & key.
    They shall not cause any disturbance to other students by louder speaking or playing of music/TV devises etc.
  • Chewing of Pan/Tobacco/ Pan Masala, or smoking or consumption of liquor is strictly prohibited
  • No student shall interchange the allotted room/furniture/fixture etc. No additional electrical fitting or usage of other electrical/electronic appliances without warden’s permission is allowed in the hostel
  • No cooking is allowed in the living rooms
  • Any attempt of inflicting ragging in the hostel shall be viewed seriously and guilty shall be punished severely including expulsion from the hostel/college
  • The students shall practice self-housekeeping to maintain their rooms neat and clean
  • Any loss or damage of the hostel property shall be recovered from the student(s), individually or collectively
  • Only the warden has authority to permit off-campus visits, if necessary
  • The students shall always enter their time out/time-in and the purpose of going-out in the hostel logbook. The students shall ensure their return back to the hostel latest by 8.00 p.m.
  • If conduct of a student is not found satisfactory, the college management reserves all rights to get the accommodation vacated any time
  • Parents/guardians/day scholars are required to take warden’s permission to see their ward/ classmate. They will meet in the common room only. No entry of outsider shall be allowed in the hostel rooms
  • No visit of outsiders shall be allowed after 6.00 p.m.
  • No boy student shall visit girls-hostel or vice-versa
  • All the students who wish to go out of station are supposed to inform warden and dinning hall at least three days in advance
  • If a student leaves the hostel in mid session, there will be no relaxation in charging annual accommodation rent
  • Non-compliance to any of the hostel rules and regulation shall be treated as misconduct and appropriate action shall be taken against the student

  • If conduct of a student is not found satisfactory, the college management reserves all rights to get the accommodation vacated any time
  • Parents/guardians/day scholars are required to take warden’s permission to see their ward/ classmate. They will meet in the common room only. No entry of outsider shall be allowed in the hostel rooms
  • No visit of outsiders shall be allowed after 6.00 p.m.
  • No boy student shall visit girls-hostel or vice-versa
  • All the students who wish to go out of station are supposed to inform warden and dinning hall at least three days in advance
  • If a student leaves the hostel in mid session, there will be no relaxation in charging annual accommodation rent
  • Non-compliance to any of the hostel rules and regulation shall be treated as misconduct and appropriate action shall be taken against the student
